Application of Binder Jetting to Develop 3D Printed Modified Release Tablets
Scientific Posters | December 5, 2024
Additive manufacturing, especially 3D printing (3DP), is revolutionizing drug delivery. This study demonstrates 3DP’s ability to control layer thickness, dosing and release kinetics, tackling complex formulation challenges and speeding up drug development. Focusing on binder jetting, the study examines precise fluid deposition on powder substrates. Although other 3DP methods are well-researched, the performance of modified release polymers in binder jetting remains underexplored. Data indicates that binder jetting 3DP and Z-FORM technology can accelerate the production of formulations for various applications with two commonly used modified release polymers.
